3CX Microsoft Teams integration
3CX natively supports Microsoft Teams. The telephony integration of Teams offers an alternative to the Microsoft 365 calling plan. You can call via 3CX SIP-Trunks at low and international rates. Your team gets access to outbound calling through an interface they are with. 3CX provides an instant, unified calling experience for both 3CX users and Teams users and vice versa.
3CX Microsoft Teams configuration
Step 1: Configure Teams domain name
– When you login to the 3CX Management Console, go to Microsoft 365 Integration via Settings and then check the “Enable Microsoft Teams Direct Routing” tab at Teams Direct Routing.
– Enter the domain name that belongs to the domain email address of Microsoft 365. You can find this in the Microsoft 365 admin portal setting, under “Settings” and “Domain”.
Step 2: Upload certificate and private key
– Upload the “certificate” and “private key” provided by the certificate authority.
Step 3: Generate Calling Plan configuration and scripts
– Select the applicable country code. A script generates that modifies to format the dialed numbers in scenarios such as internal, national, international.
– Click on “Generate Dial Plan” and save the PowerShell file.
– Run Windows PowerShell as administrator and make sure the “execution policy” is set to Bypass.
– Go to the folder where the previously generated script is stored and click “Run”.
– You can verify that the configuration is present and that there are no errors by opening the Microsoft Teams admin portal.
